TGIF! There was ITBS Testing all this week and we will complete all testing by this coming Monday, September 23, 2013. Students have been working really hard and giving their best efforts. Thank you for helping us by helping your students to get lots of rest and good food daily. Thank you also for getting your students to school on time. I want to encourage you to continue to encourage your students in school.
IMPORTANT:
We have been having an issue with name calling and teasing as well as doing things to aggravate one another just to get a reaction out of them. That kind of behavior is bullying, and, according to the school handbook, is worthy of suspension. Please talk to your children about how mean words hurt and cannot be taken back after they come out of their mouths. We should also strive to treat others the way we would like to be treated or the way God treats us most of all. God shows forgiveness and kindness to us even when we are least deserving of it and we should strive to be like Him in every way. Let us love one another in word and deed.
Our first Robotics class was this Thursday and we had an excellent turn out. Students were so enthusiastic about what they were doing that they didn't want to stop at 6:00 p.m.! We took on a couple of challenges and built our robots from scratch. With a few hiccups along the way, students quickly discovered that they had to improvise and keep pushing even when things were not working out the way they had planned or hoped and others found that they have a lot to offer the Robotics team. We can't wait to see you at next week's meeting if you are on the team!
Don't forget our first field trip on Monday, September 30 to the Lowry Park Zoo. The cost is $14 and permission slips are due on the morning of the 30th. If any of you are interested in being a chaperone, please let me know at mcja5and6@gmail.com, or send a text message to my cell found on the very first post of our blog.
Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Sabbath!
